Numismatic Meetings
The Numismatic meetings are a joint organization of the University of Athens, the Belgian School at Athens and the French School at Athens. These Meetings will take place in an almost monthly basis at the conference room of the "Kostes Palamas" building of the University of Athens (48, Akademias avenue & Sina). The Numismatic meetings are under the auspices of the Embassy of Belgium in Athens.

Sissi Excavations - Minoan Seminar tour of the Kefali site at Sissi

With the permission of the ΚΔ' ΕΠΚΑ, Professor Jan Driessen has kindly offered to guide the Minoan Seminar around the Louvain la Neuve and Leuven Universities excavations at Kefali, Sissi.
The first phase of excavations concluded last year and are described in various reports and on the web-site
Please arrive by 11.00 a.m. at the bottom of the hill where there is also some space for parking. Afterwards, we can have some lunch/refreshments at Sissi.

Job Opening for a director

Dear all,
On March 30th 2012, I will complete 5 years of directorship of the Belgian School at Athens. It is challenging job, balancing between diplomacy, finance, research, heritage and archaeology but most fulfilling when complex tasks like the setup and organisation of exhibitions or negotiations with involved ministeries come to a succesful closure. The school is in my heart and it was no easy decision to have to stop. However, the School must come first and for that reason, the position of director for the Belgian School at Athens will be vacant as from April 1st.
The Centre for archaeological research in Greece (BCAOG-CBRAG) therefore announces the job opening for a director for the Belgian School at Athens. The official announcement and contact information can be found below.

"Marking Coin Issues: Mint Administration and Mint Archives in Antiquity"
This meeting that will take place in the Lucien de Hirsch-Conference Room in the Coin Cabinet of the Royal Library (conveniently situated near the central Railway station of Brussels). This meeting is open to all and free of charge. Please confirm your attendance (by May 3th) as participation is limited to 40 people (reply to: paulette.ramakers@kbr.be). There will be the possibility to have lunch with the speakers for a € 25 fee upon reservation (please RSVP when you confirm your attendance). We also have a self-service cafeteria, no reservation required.
