A workshop on "Distribution 
patterns and uses of pottery in the ancient Mediterranean world" will conclude the 5 year International Research Program ARC. Round Table:
"Pottery in ancient societies: Production, distribution and uses" at the ULB, A.Y.2.117, from 9-18h.

Professor Jan Driessen and the Belgian School at Athens have been honoured for their five year excavation project at Sissi on Crete with the Scientific Award of the Compagnie du Bois Sauvage 2008-2009. A ceremony will take place at the Sénat Académique, Halles universitaires, Place de l'Université, 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve at 5pm.

The Mediterranean Archaeological Research Institute announces the 8th annual meeting of Postgraduate Cypriote Archaeology (POCA). This event will be held from 27 to 29 of November 2008 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Royal Museums of Art and History.

POCA will open on 27th November at 19.00 with a keynote lecture by Dr P. Keswani at the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels. On Friday 28th and Saturday 29th November, young scholars are invited to present their paper. Prof. Dr em. P. Åström will close the colloquium on 29th November.
