Abstracts

10/11/2007: A Calendar has been added to the menu on this website, announcing activities of the school, as well as those of the associated universities and other instances, related to Greek archaeology.

8/11/2007:
The conference of 1 and 2 november on "Royal Cult and Emperor Worship: From Classical to Late Antiquity." at the NIA was after 11 years the first conference of the Belgian School and can be considered a success. On both days the NIA library was visited by approximately 75 scholars, while 11 nationalities were greeted, some of which travelled a considerable distance to attend.

29/10/2007:
The Makronisos archive and a library of approximately 500 volumes, generously donated by Mme Demolin, arrived in the school in Athens on thursday 25/10/2007. 20 boxes of books, files, plans, drawings, photographs and slides are now waiting to be sorted out.

8/10/2007: To avoid further confusion with our British collegues in Athens, it was decided to change the abbreviation of the school's name from bsa-eba to ebsa, whereby we have integrated the french 'ecole belge' and the flemish 'belgische school' to one EBSA. Website, email address of the school and so on will change soon.

17/09/2007: The program of our international conference on 1 and 2 November 2007 at the NIA on "Royal Cult and Emperor Worship: From Classical to Late Antiquity." can be found on-line here.

8/09/2007: Last saturday, Isabelle Demolin, who used to be secretary of the school and participated in the excavations on Makronisos with Paule Spitaels, donated the entire archive of the excavations and the survey of the island to the school.
